I just got the backwards compatibility running on my jtag... and all is good one that end. Got my ORIGINAL halo2 disk and ripped it.... all runs good. But on my old xbox I got all the modded MEMESIS installed custom maps... will those work in the jtag enviroment.

If so...where the heck do I install them. I tried to run the installer... it loads but when u go to install..yeah it dies,,, not a real surprise there though. Has anyone done this successfully. We wanna get a old skewl Lan game goin... like we used to. Xbox live is great...but nothing like yelling to the guy in the next room your profanitys....hehehheheh

I've never heard of Project Mimesis until now. From the looks of what I've seen, it seems like you have to download the maps from their server or something. Who knows if their server is even still up since it looks like this project was created in 2006. Anyway, if you can send me a link to download that project, I'll try running it on my modded original Xbox and see if I can get the maps for you because I doubt that if they made a custom .xbe, that it will run on an Xbox 360.

Sorry for the late reply...I do still have a modded xbox 1 and Memesis still runs...but I think the server is gone... however the maps in question are installed. Just not real sure how to extract them. They list in the memory manager of the xbox 1 but you cant copy them to anything...only delete since they are so big. I have no clue where they would be located on the physical HDD. If I can figure where they are in the tdata/udata folders I can try to transfer them over to the xbox RGH drive....

Yeah, I'd say they're most likely mixed with all the other map packs. I don't remember where those are stored, but I'm sure it'd be easy enough to find if you just open the HDD up in a drive explorer.

Also, from what I've read on another forum, it seems like a lot of the maps might be included in the Killtrocity map packs as well. So, you may just want to download those if you can't get anything else to work.

Thanks...I did find a post of the killtrocity map pack.... and did some videos... not the same but still...more maps means more fun. Just suck the partition size on the xbox1 is kinda stuck at its size .... however I am backing up my entire 4d5300654 TDATA folder from the xbox 1 and Im gonna try to throw it on the 360 in the TDATA folder and hope for the best. I will post my results

Alright let me know what happens. Also, you may just want to look for the individual .maps since they're probably all together. If you can find them and then just get the .mapinfo files and .bik files, you can probably dump them in their respective directories with all the other .maps, .mapinfos, and .bik files and they'll show up.

Well I dumped the maps over.... but they dont show up in the game. However when i use the 360 dash,,, it does see them, they are even named correctly but in a "unknown" game section but with the halo 2 icon..heh.

The xbox 1 game itself resides in a "hdd1/xbox 1/halo 2/" folder on the HDD. I was wondering how you get to the old xbox 1 dash memory manager anyhow. But regardless Im kinda stuck. I cannot find my older multiplayer map pack origina disk either... so I dont have those maps installed. Im wondering if that has to be installed for any other maps to load. All the tutorials I find are very old... I see something about "resigning" but that app crashes..(yaye!!!!)

anything else you can suggest?

If I understand you correctly, you found all the .maps, but they aren't showing up when you go to Halo 2. If that's correct, I have an easy solution for you.

First, download this Serenity patch and patch it to your mainmenu.map

Put your mainmenu.map back on your harddrive in the /maps/ directory with all the other maps and now all the new and old maps should show up.

at the high risk of sounding stupid...how do I go about doin that...I tried to just rename the original file and put this one in its place... it crashes shorlty after boot....so I undid that.

Download Serenity here, then open it and go to the apply tab. Open the mainmenuAllNewMaps.serenity in the patch section and open your mainmenu.map in the source map section. The output map will probably already be filled in for you. Then just click apply patch and put the mainmenu.map back on your harddrive.

Ok...all that went fine.... still no memesis downloaded maps show up in the game... just in memory. Is there any kind of memory manager specific for xbox1 in the xbox 360... halo2 claims i have a corrupt file when it boots.

Yeah, I'm not sure why that's happening. And actually, when I try to load Halo 2, my Halo 2 freezes, so I can't be of much help. I would recommend you go to iBotModz and go to the Help Desk forum and make a topic explaining your situation and maybe linking back to this thread. iBotPeaches will be able to better help you than I can. He knows much more than me.
