How to Get Free DLC on a JTAG'd Xbox 360

This tutorial will teach you how to get free DLC(downloadable content), themes, gamer pictures, arcade games, and more on a JTAG'd Xbox 360.

Requirements:
A JTAG'd Xbox 360
Yaris Swap
The DLC you want
FlashFXP
An HDD or USB drive


1. Download your DLC that you want to put on your JTAG'd console. If it is in a RAR or ZIP then make sure to extract the folders/files inside.

2. Open Yaris Swap.


3. Click the 'Go To Folder' button. Navigate to whatever folder you put your DLC that you downloaded in. Now that you opened your folder your DLC should show up in Yaris Swap. It should tell you the path that the DLC is located in, the name of the DLC, the console ID of the Xbox that it came from, the original directory that it needs to be in on your HDD of your Xbox, and the XUID.

4. Now highlight your DLC in Yaris Swap and click the button that says 'Hex mod/Yaris Swap' or 'Hex mod - Yaris Swap' (depending on your version of Yaris Swap it will say different things). A message should pop up and now you have successfully removed the license that was attached to the DLC. Now we just have to put it on our HDD.

5(optional depending on your situation). Your DLC that you downloaded may or may not have come inside the folder that tells you what directory to put your DLC in. No need to panic if it doesn't tell you where to put the DLC. If you don't have the folders, then look at the DLC in Yaris Swap and look under the 'Original Directory' category. In the image that I posted the first directory is "58580823". So I would make that folder and then inside that folder I would make another folder called "00009000" and then inside that I would put the DLC that I downloaded.

6. Now turn your Xbox on with your HDD plugged into it. Then go to your system settings and see what your
console's IP is. Remember or write down that IP. Then boot into XeXmenu and just stay in XeXmenu for the time being. Now on your computer open FlashFXP. Click the lightning bult on the top right-ish. A drop down menu will appear, click "Quick Connect". You server or URL is the IP that I told you to write down before. Your username and password are both "xbox" without quotes.

7. You should now be connected to your Xbox 360 hardrive. Navigate to HDD1>Content>0000000000000. This is where all of your DLC will be stored. On the left side of FlashFXP find your folder where you put your DLC. In my situation it would be the "58580823" folder. Right click on that folder and click 'transfer'. It should then start transferring to your 0000000000000000 folder.

8. Once the file is done transferring, then go on your JTAG and load whatever game the DLC is for. The DLC should then show up wherever it is supposed to.

There are very few places that share DLC. I only know of one other place and it has almost nothing, but I'll post the link just in case you see something that interests you.

Hi there.

I hope someone would be able to help me.
I got a new JTAG and everything seems fine except I can't make any DLC I've downloaded work.
I've tried 6 different ones and none would work. I either get a corrupt message, a XBOX LIVE message, or no response at all.
I put them in the right directory according to to their NFO (and any xbox forum out there).
I also copied the Title updates for the games I tried.
And I also tried running them through Yaris-swap according to this guide.

Nothing helps.

What am I missing???

What game specifically are you trying to get the DLC for? It may be that you need an updated XeX too. Also, are you downloading the games off of websites or are you getting them off of someone's HDD?

I also have a patch that you put on the root on the JTAG HDD so that you don't need to unlock any content Does it all for me automatically, how nice is that, Will upload if soon somewhere, But Yaris swap was one of the ways i used to do it.

No sorry, retail xboxes see the license file has changed so it won't boot the DLC or arcade games, hence the jtag required to run unsigned code

This tutorial was from before the patch was released. But the bad thing is that the patch only works if you have dash launch/the memory editing patch.

I'm booting into Freestyle dash 2.0a from launch, much prettier dash to look at and love not having to unlock anything on the PC, Just FTP it over and reboot.

First of all, thanks for the quick reply.
The games I tried the DLCs for so far are: Alan Wake, Bioshock 2, Gears of war 2, Left 4 dead 2, army of two: 40th day.
The games and the DLCs were downloaded from usenet (NZBs).
I'm running the games from a burned DVD (haven't started transferring them to the USB HDD yet).
I'm putting the DLCs into the content folder of the xbox HDD, not the USB one.
And I haven't used XEX at all yet. Much more comfortable with freestyle.

Also, I ran XM360 to make sure they are all unlocked, which they were.

There's only 2 things that I can think of that are causing problem. One is that you are downloading corrupt DLC. Try to download your DLC from Xbox360iso(Google it). They have an amazing amount of content on there. The other problem that you may have is that you're games aren't on your HDD. I'm not sure if that would be a problem, but it could be. You should try to put one game on your HDD as a test.

And also, if you have the dash launch/memory editing patch(as opposed to the Xbox 1 compatibility patch), then you could try putting this on the root of your HDD: Unlicensed Content Patch And if you're worried about losing the 30 MS patch, then don't be because that patch includes the 30 MS patch and unlicensed content patch together in one.

great thread. guys i am puzzled at something and i could use your help please

i know how to inject xuid. no problem in that
my question is when it is necessary

especially in xbla dlcs, they consist of every kind of stuff
from map packs, avatars clothes, themes, songs and every thing you can imagine. my question is WHEN am i forced to inject the xuid?
it is a pain in the *** every time to try and see if i should in a specific dlc inject xuid

if i inject a xuid in a dlc and it isnt needed (for example if it is a rock band song) then the dlc gets corrupted, or it doesnt matter and if i insert xuid in all dlcs then i will be fine?
and one last question. the dlcs that FOR SURE dont need xuid arethe guitar hero, rock band and lips dlcs? am i right?

I'm pretty sure that you only need to inject the XUID for Avatar Items. All other items will be able to run without it. Although, if you are downloading from the right place, then all you will need to do is Yaris Swap the DLC most of the time. In some cases, people have already Yaris Swapped it for you and all you need to do is put it on your HDD.

yes but in some dlc, especially in xbla dlcs you simply dont know what the dlc includes. for example it can say, megabomberman megapcak. what the hell is the megapack? who knows?
so just to be sure, if i inject there the xui, will it ruin the dlc or not? thanx
