How to Mod Call of Duty 4 on a JTAG'd Xbox 360
How Mod Call of Duty 4 on a JTAG'd Xbox 360 By Twis7eD of InsomniacGamerZ.net This tutorial will teach you how to mod Call of Duty 4 on a JTAG. This tutorial will not go in-depth on how to script or code your own patch as I'm sure there are tons of tutorials out there that will explain that. This tutorial will just give you the basics of how to mod the game. This is obviously for system link because the general public of JTAG users can't go online. Requirements: A JTAG'd Xbox 360 CoD 4 disc or ISO or Modded Default_mp.xex, Patch_mp.ff, & Code_post_gfx.ff (Exclusive members only) Auto Xbins to download XeXmenu Party Buffalo Drive Explorer or any other program that you can use to explore your storage device (Modio, USB Xtaf GUI, FATXplorer, Xport360, Xplorer360, etc. IMPORTANT! READ BEFORE STARTING:
1. After downloading Xbins, open it. Wait for it to connect to the server. Then follow the following directories: Xbox 360 > dashboards > XeXMenu > and then double click xexmenu_v1.1.rar to download it. 2. Navigate to where ever you download XeXmenu to. Extract the C0DE9999 folder anywhere. 3. Open up your drive explorer. I will be using Party Buffalo Drive Explorer. If you are using Party Buffalo Drive Explorer, your screen should look similar to this: ![]() 4. Now, open your drive with your drive explorer. If you are using Party Buffalo Drive Explorer, then your screen will look similar to this: ![]() 5. Now that your storage device is open, we will see something similar to this if you are using a USB device: ![]() There will be cache and data folders for USB devices. For an OEM HDD, you will see 3 Partitions. Partition 1, Partition 2, and Partition 3. You will be working with the Partition 3 folder and people with USB devices will be working with the data folder. 6. Now, if you are using a USB device, follow these folder paths to get to where we want. The folder paths are Data > Content > 0000000000000000 > (place C0DE9999 folder here). This is what it will look like: ![]() Now, if you are using an OEM HDD, then it will be almost exactly the same. The file paths will be: Partition 3 > Content > 0000000000000000 > (place C0DE9999 folder here). 7. Now unplug your storage device and plug it into your JTAG or Dev kit. 8. Go to My Xbox, then go to Game Library. From there you should see XeXmenu 1.1 (if you don't then you didn't put it on the right spot on your storage device). Click on XeXmenu 1.1 and load it. 9. Once in XeXmenu, hit the right bumper. Then if you are using an OEM HDD, follow this path: Hdd1 > Content > 00000000000 > and make a new folder called Games by pressing Y. Then inside of the the Games folder make another folder called CoD4. 10. Once in the CoD4 folder, click Y again. There should be an option to copy disc. Click that and it will prompt you to insert your disc. Put your Call of Duty 4 disc in now. *NOTE* you need to have approximately 8GB of free space on your HDD to copy the disc. 11. It should take about 20 minutes to install. Just let it finish. If it freezes, then turn your console off and restart it and delete all the files and folders that it just copied to your hardrive and start again. CoD4 is known to have issues installing to storage devices, though, so you may need to download an ISO of the game and then rip all of the files from that ISO with Wx360. A tutorial on how to do this can be found here. 12. Once it is done. Load the default.xex to make sure the game boots and then turn off the console once you are sure it loads. 13. Now, go back on your computer and plug in your storage device. Open your device explorer. Now navigate to Content/ 0000000000000000/Games/CoD4. 14. You're going to want to replace the default_mp.xex, patch_mp.ff, and code_post_gfx.ff with the files that you got above. They were pre-modded, so all you have to do is replace the files and you're good to go. 15. Now go back on Call of Duty 4. Start up a system link game on your JTAG. Have your retail Xbox join. Once both people are in your game, then on your JTAG press up on the d-pad twice. A loading message will come up on your screen. That's normal. That will not go away. That just means that the mods have been activated and will start automatically modding anyone else that is in the game. You won't be able to do anything on your JTAG, but there will be on-screen text telling the other person what is being modded and what is happening. 16. After everything has been modded, then back out and start a public match and just get a kill or die and then quit or play it out if you want. This will just sync up your leaderboards and rank to the CoD4 servers. If you get host in the game, then infections will be present. 17. Now, the patch that I supplied is a system link patch that will allow you to mod directly to 10th prestige and also mod your leaderboards. It doesn't mod camos or challenges. If you want a patch that will infect others and allow them to go into public matches and mod their XP, then use this patch. 18. There are tons of different patches out there. You can easily find one that you will like and will fit your needs. Just replace the one that I gave you and it should work fine as long as the patch was coded correctly. If you get a syntex error, then that means that the patch was coded wrong, you didn't do anything wrong. This tutorial was made by Twis7eD of InsomniacGamerZ.net and only for InsomniacGamerZ.net This tutorial may not be ripped without the permission of me. If you rip this tutorial, then at least have the decency to give me and my website credit. This tutorial took long to make and you should not steal the credit. |
