A new design has absolutely nothing to do with membership whatsoever. I'm sick of hearing this all the time. For those of us who have been here 1+ years, sure the design get's tiring after a while.. However vBulletin 4 Custom made layouts from what I've tried to buy, CODED run $600+.. Now I know twis7ed says he has money saved, but it's not the cheapest thing in the world to do..

Content is what will drive new members back not the layout.

Well you're obviously going to the wrong people. I run CV, and that's running IPB, and our skin only costed me about $125, and IMO IPB looks harder to design on than VB. $600+ for a skin is ridiculous.

There may be some cheaper sites.. Alex who made this skin, said he would sell a design for around 100-150 but that doesn't include any coding..

Not just that, but from personal experience with it. Try branching off somewhere difference and jump off of this vB ship which seems to be sinking.

That idea has been tossed around many times on other sites. I can't make a judgement on it because I know almost nothing about it. It is obviously gaining a lot of popularity, but I have still yet to see any big sites using it and I don't know how well it would function for us (or me).
