.mod to AVI

Anyone know how to convert for free full size .mod files to avi or wmv? I have JVC camcorder and I don't want to pay for software to convert to avi... any help would be appreciated. I want to edit video's of my newborns and I can't with it in .mod format. And yes it is .mod files not .mov.

If there isn't one that's free, try using a torrent. It'll get you free ones that you normally have to pay for.

I just don't know what converter to use? To search for on torrents... I know exactly how to use torrents... just don't know what converter is best for .mod to avi... or the best converter period.

I'll try to look for one, and when I find a decent one, i'll post it up here. I know a trial site though, you can do 5 conversions a day. You can change whatever you want to .avi files for free 5 times a day. The link is www.mediaconverter.org
