External Hard Drive Help
I am in need of an External Hard Drive for my PC. I was thinking of getting a 500GB. Which Hard Drive to you recommend? Can be any, don't really care for a brand.

Pretty much the only thing that you have to look for when looking for an external HDD is:
1. Price - If you look in the right places at the right times, you can get a BIG HDD for really cheap. 2. USB - Obviously make sure it is USB and not something like eSATA 3. Power supply - Depending on where you are going to use your HDD, you may not want a power supply. I know I wouldn't. If you get anything bigger then 1 terabyte, then you will probably need a power supply for it. Try Newegg for HDD's. I just looked at their newest deals and the only external HDD on sale is a 2 terabyte for $79.99 It's a great price, but you have to use a power supply. |

I wouldn't want a 2tb HDD it would most likely have terrible read/write speeds along with probability of overheating.

That is possibly true, but he only wants a 500 GB HDD anyway. I wouldn't recommend buying a 2 TB anyway because it won't be a standard 2.5 inch HDD most likely and it will have a power supply.

You just need to plug it in to your computer, and re-format it to FAT32, or NTFS so windows can recognize it.
